Recently I noticed a slight drip of brake fluid at the rear of the master cylinder during the brake bleeding process. To me, this drip indicated a failure of a brake cylinder "o" ring. Since this unit is pretty old, I decided to replace the entire unit rather than attempt a rebuild. I am waiting for delivery. Meanwhile, I am wondering if I need to remove the brake servo and check for brake fluid that may have entered through the front seal of the servo. Is it possible for the servo to be contaminated by a leak in the MC? I don't want to go through the effort to remove/install the servo if not necessary. Does anyone have any experience with such leaks getting into the servo? Should I check the servo or am I too cautious? As usual, any advice is appreciated.. Thanks.
