Hi. I bought new rear wheel cylinders and the installation kits containing 3 spacing and locking pieces designed to hold the cylinder in place while allowing it to slide a little. When I removed the old cylinders I found only 2 pieces locking it on. When I refitted a new cylinder using all 3 pieces the fit is very tight and does not want to slide, but I don't know how easy it should be to slide it.
I have an old Chilton manual and it shows only 2 locking pieces and no spacer. The last time this was done was so long ago and by a relatively inexperienced mechanic at the time (yours truly). My question is should big Healeys use all 3 pieces or do I omit the spacer?
Thanks
