I have acquired one DYNAMOTOR C39 repro from BBclassic -BUT haven't mounted it on my car -
I have one normal alternator on my AH that works great
and haven't the necessity to configure the engine bay to Concours- BUT in the future...?!?? -
seller is affordable and good e bayer

Yes, I am looking at the generator look-a-like for 125 GBP. My regulator is - let say - unreliable and the bearings of the generator are pretty noisy (actually louder than the engine).

Freight to Canada will be expensive and it would be nice to find a reasonably priced one on this side of the pond

this DYNOAlternator have the internal regulator and came with instructions for use the old LUCAS RB106

You can require to "bb" the shipping&handle to Canada- I think that inside the UK community customs duty is NOT applicables-- BUT controll in advance

Sebastian; et al,

It looks like the only alternator they carry is a replacement for the C39 / C40 dynamo with Negative earth. Do you know, or does anyone know, if that would be the proper replacement for a 3000 MKII?

This thing would work great until it didn't. If you were out in the boondocks when it quits it might take days or weeks to get it replaced, whereas a conventional alternator can be acquired at almost any NAPA or other parts store. Since it only puts out 45amps it won't power any high draw accessories anyway.

Hi - I finished fitting the "Dynamtor" from BB Classics into my 3000 BT7 (Mk II) - it is a straight forward fit - no mechanical nor harness modification etc. required.
It weighs less than half of the original C45 dynamo and delivers up to 45Amps even when idling :smile:
It also replaces the original regulator but you don't have to change anything on the existing harness - just change some wires directly at the regulator and you are done :smile: (Instructions come with the Dynamtor).

You might have to change your belt pulley and fan wheel as the dnyamtor has a 15mm shaft (some Lucas C45 have 17mm shaft) - cheapes place you can get this is in Europe was: https://www.oekoprofi.com/upload/Katalog2013/s331-337.pdf
But probably you can also get them at rockauto.com/ ... it was a very common part.

So I can fully recommend this solution !
