Anybody tried Eastwood's Tin Zinc Electroplating?

When I reassemble my MGA I want to use plated hardware and rather than purchase all new nuts and bolts, I was thinking of using Eastwood's system. Has anybody tried it? It seems simple enough to use but my concern is that the parts have to be polished with Autosol metal polish after the plating, in their words "the piece is covered with a uniform dull gray film which easily polishes to a beautiful shine". I'm wondering if this as easy as it sounds - I really don't want to spend a 1/2 an hour polishing a bolt.

Dave,will the cost of the Eastwood system, plus the labor involved, be substantially less than just buying new hardware?
And, you're still plating a 45 year old, stressed, bolt.
When I did my GT6, I replaced every fastener on the car, and it was really a very minor expense in the total budget.

I have not tallied up the cost of replacing all the hardware but considering that the Eastwood kit is $70, it certainly could not be that much more... and I would eliminate the need to do all the work myself.

Dave, I have to agree with BI58. Having just gone thru what you plan on my bugeye, towards the end I just went with stainless. Eventually realized it to be easier. Every few days would make a list of exactly what I needed and go to the local hardware store. Figure the next owner should be grateful. - Check your local store first. Most all fasteners are fine thread. - my $.02

I've got the kit and used it to good effect on odds and ends- results are good, plating occurs in a few minutes, polishes out very quickly. I am very satisfied. The parts must be very clean first- there is where your labor will be.
