Wondering if anyone knows which supercharger Mo$$ uses in their superecharger kit and what cars they were put into new?? I'm curious about building such a setup from scratch rather than having more than the value of the car in Mo$$'s kit.

We use Eaton MP62 chargers in our kits.

Kurt,
Have you considered a turbo? As much as I like my Moss Supercharger it is still limited when it comes to max performance. Although turbos are more work, they have a much higher tuning potential.

My SC kit is the M45 version.

Well, Trevor, when I first thought about posting the question I considered just getting ahold of you directly!

I always have preferred a supercharger for the ability to add power from low down all the way up. I admit though that I haven't had much experience with either.

I appreciate the comeback as well, Matt, but am still wondering what vehicle I could rob these off of at my local friendly salvage yard!!???

Kurt.

You're far more likely to find a small turbo at the wreckers than a supercharger. Think VW (rabbit, jetta, beetle). My Rayjay came from a tractor and works a treat.

You can find small eaton superchargers on the early BMW MINI S. However, the nose cone and will be different. A properly sized turbo will yield good power at lower RPM's. Maybe not as good as a supercharger, but still enough to be fun. Then you could also add nitrous if you need more of a "kick" at lower rpms.

Buick and Pontiac had them and there are a few on ebay.

I've thought about a turbo but it's already to hot under my hood.

I've actually thought about the al-la SoCal VW but I think it would look too funny.

Thanks guys---early mini ones on ebay currently are rebuilts for 7+. Pontiac and Buick have too long of a drive snout by the looks of them. As for nitrous, what I'm thinking of now is probably complicated enough. Turbo, now that I think about it, seems more interesting. Hmmmm.

BP has a short snout too.

Kellysguy, by BP you mean Buick Pontiac?? The ones I see on ebay appear to be fairly stretched out.

Kurt.

That is one compact SC. This would fit, not much larger than an alternator.

It looks more compact in the picture. It doesn't look as compact when you see it hanging off the side of an A-series engine.

Wow! That seems like a pretty good deal. 5psi is just enough to make things interesting without (too much) fear of fragging your engine. I think I will start saving my pennies.

For slightly more power you could squeeze an mr2 supercharger in there:
