Anyone installed the supercharger on their 6??

Just curious. I have seen it advertised in the Moss magazine as well as a youtube video. Trying to get the real scoop.

i actualy finally got the nerve to ask them today if they wanted a testbed for using this on a gt6, but as i suspected, it doesn't fit under my bonnet. and my compression ratio would be perfect...

I have a friend who found a kit before Moss made theirs available. His is with a stock motor and is nice. I would think that the low comp 6 motor would be perfect. Now about building a motor for a BE and adding the SC, awsome.

Looks like all the supercharger groupies are on line and the guys actually running them are at work. I spoke with an owner out of Madison, WI at a recent Chicago British car event. He said he loves it and yes it works best with the original lower compression six motors. I'm intrigued with the idea but need to get my car back together and running before yet another project.

AltaKnight: the vibrating checkbook comment is beautiful, i think there may be a product idea in there some where.

Now, I'm a new enough owner to not know what the meaning of "original low compression motors" in a TR6? Are their different compression ratios among the motors installed in various years of TR6 production??

Not just different years, but different markets as well. For US-spec, the compression dropped in 1972 from 8.5 to 7.75:1.

However, I think the original comment refers to the fact that many owners of US-spec TR6 opt to raise the compression ratio when they rebuild the motor.
