A Quick Question [Clutch Master Seals]

Finishing up with my brake rebuild, I am now tackling the Clutch and Brake Master Cylinders. With the extra girth I have collected over the years, this has proven to be/produce a pain everywhere. When rebuilding the clutch MC, the kit included 3 seals (plunger seal, valve seal, and end seal). Disassembling my MC, the end seal was not present. Since the book also shows an end seal for the brake MC which was not present in the rebuild kit for the BJ8, what are your suggestions?

Just a note, although I ordered and received these rebuild kits from a major sponsore's distributor, I was disappointed in their appearance, minimalism, and even their lack of rubber lube. Mentioning this to a Healey friend, he showed me the kits he just received from a popular on-line Auto parts house. They were complete in their own marked box, with directions, and, at 2/3s the price I paid, they even contained the rubber lube.

Well, I finally received an answer from the distributor of product from our major sponsor. It seems that the end seal was eliminated from the rebuild kit counter to their catalogue picture. This answer concerns me as the part was specified in the Healey service manual and a similar end seal (or maybe the same) was provided within the clutch rebuild kit. Who took the responsibility for deciding this part was no longer needed for operation or safety?

Since Beck/Arnley provides this component in their kit from a popular on-line supplied, professionally presented in a box (not loose in a small zip-lock plastic bag hand marked) with instructions and rubber lubrication for $11.99 + $3 shipping, I have decided to put my confidence in their product and have purchased another rebuild kit.

Although I have always purchased from our major sponsor, I have been left disappointed and wonder about my past presumption of quality. Don’t get me wrong, I will probably still make the majority of my purchases from our major sponsor, however, they have probably lost their exclusivity with me.
