Old and crochety? Nah...... It's ok to vent. Just saw a story that says there's snow in 49 states. If it starts snowing in Hawaii,I will leave the planet. There's a rumor that milk cartons with Al Gores' picture are showing up at Stop n Shop. PeterK- Carolinas to Maine? How'd that happen? Bad map? Hope you guys know Im only poking fun.

Better get your spacesuit on.

The only state without snow is Florida.

I hate to let you folks know this but parts of "Florida" did get some snow the other wk!! Cost of Fruit has just gone up.

This is as far north as you will see me, unless it's July. Then I go to Maine to enjoy the fresh blueberries.

Is this the wrong place to say how much I love winter?? This is the time of year that I truly feel alive. Am happy that we are forecast for a fair amount of snow (for us) as well as temps in the -20 range. Still not severe enough, but it will have to do for now.

For those in SoCal and AZ, I honestly have no idea how you could handle the "winters" that you get. I spent 10 years living in the Arctic and the winters were usually my favourite time of year.

Some of us are wired differently I guess (perhaps negative earth vs positive earth).

But soon enough the snow and cold will be gone and my little cars can get roused out of their hibernation.

Cheers and enjoy.

PS And no, it is not cause I am Canadian that I luv winter - my compatriots think I am nuts.

Yeah, I just don't know how we stand it. Forecast is 76F at my home, but 50 miles away is:

Cortina, Italy, in the Dolomites.

Still don't like winter, lol.

While those are all beautiful pictures, it still sucks.....

A little better subject in the middle, but the surroundings look a like like my area and that is not so good.

I moved to the NW SC area about 1-1/2yrs ago from the "Pocono Mtns of PA". I don`t envy you at all nor do I miss all the shoveling, power outageous, slipping & sliding etc.

Why would one want to move from "SC" to "Maine" anyway? I traveled all of "NY State" & "New England" during the winter months & hated every moment of it.

Have Fun Anyways,

Russ

We moved from your near current neck of the woods, Spartanburg, after my Dad died. We'd still be there otherwise.

But we don't miss the heat and humidity, cockroaches, black widows on the vegetable plants, scorpions under your parts car, no poisonous snakes (Copperheads, Rattlers) in the woods, car jacking, red necks, property crime, etc.

Up here, it's generally safer, but colder and more expensive to live. And rust under our new cars after 1 winter. That we hate. And not having enough driving days +1.

But when you're too cold, you can always put on a sweatshirt or sit by the fire. When you're too hot though, you have to go from a/c house to a/c car to a/c work.

I used to love the snow, but ever since i got my first car, i hate it.
Sure it's fun to go run around with friends and have a snow ball fight. But when you just dump $170 into parts and can't put them on, it sucks!!!!

I live in Southwestern Ontario 15 miles from the north shore of Lake Erie.
The best thing about living here, is 4 distinct seasons.
We never get any of them so harsh that it is unbearable for more than a day or two.
And (Bonus) we appreciate each as it is never too long.

BTW, in my town we have only had about 18" of snow this winter.

Each of us likes or hates things for our own reasons.
I say, if you not happy where you are, change it.

Dave

I thought I had.

Then none of us would have any reason to complain......

I love winter... it feels so good when it stops!!

One of the things I miss by living in the Land Without Winter is the great feeling of getting the TR back on the road that first fine day of Spring. Not enough to ever lure me back but a pleasure I always looked forward to & savored.

Wow....cabin fever....at least most of those whining have cars that run....Please remember those of us that are still striving to get the ride finished so we can drive to the roadway.

Once I have that feeling taken care of maybe I can transition to the crying game that I am hearing....

July 8th????

Is that early this year because of global warming??
