Who drove their Triumph today?

[ QUOTE ]
I hate those grey skys, but love your wide highways! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

Yup, thats a fairly new section of US 287 between Berthoud and Longmont. Grooved concrete. We got a couple inches yesterday but the sun came out today and we saw the low 40's. Snow's all gone now. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Another system supposed to hit Friday night though. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Overcast and foggy today in the Nation's Capital, with the promise of sunny skies. So, I donned a tweed jacket, my tweed driving cap, and set out into the fog. Beautiful drive! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

TR8, my daily driver. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Another cold damp day in Wisconsin. Where is that Indian Summer we always have.
39 Deg. and I see golfers going down the #1 fairway. Are they compleatly nutz?

I saw 65F here in Fort Collins today. Foothills have a good dusting of white stuff though. Next storm is supposed to hit tomorrow night and drop a few more inches.

The wife and I are planning on going up to Litchfield Ct with the CT TR Club on Sunday For the last foliage run, should be real nice if the weather holds out!

Not today but... Last weekend Kathy and I drove from East Valley, Phoenix to a winery near Prescott. Blue sky, puffy white clouds, little wind. Top up, it was raining when satrted for the gatherng site. The car ran well- no mechanical problems. My friend took some time and adjusted the timing and carbs and the car sounded so much better. The tach and speedo are inaccurate so I rely on the sound of the engine to determine speed. Well, we ran between sixty and sixty-fivemost of the way- fastest we've gone in the car. After that positive experience, Kathy set off for Buellton for Triumphest. She called today letting me know she had arrived safely- the car, she and her friend. The only problem was the accelerator cable broke while they were in a 10 mph zone. There was, however, a bicycle shop on the next block- installed new cable and off they went. So, it is two week ends of driving for my Triumph. T.T.

It was a beautiful 80 degree day in the San Francisco area, made even better by the return of my reworked cylinder head from the machine shop and getting the TR3 back on the road. It was really running nice! Then a guy leans out of another car and yells "hey buddy your brake lights don't work!" Sure enough, bad switch. Oh well, another week in the garage! But next weekend she'll be out again!

Still cold and damp in Wisconsin. I'm not going to give up just yet, even though snow is in the forcast for Sat. Indian summer has to come, even if for just one or two days.

I DID!!!!! The TR8 is alive and well, thank you!

Got the overheating problem sorted out (air pocket), got the brakes bled this morning, settled the idle down to a purrrrr, and drove to the gas station to add a little to the tank. Sounds great and now have to finish sorting it all out.

Somehow makes it all worth it, doesn't it?

This has got to be the longest post on record, save one of The Emporer's.

It was too hot today, didn't want to drive.

This morning Wendy caught me sitting
in the seatless TR6 scraping rust.

This afternoon Wendy drove me past the local
Car Crusher.

It is a challenging race. But Wendy's better funded!!

Bill,
What hath you wrought? If this post keeps up, I am gonna have to trade in my Commodore 64. It takes forever to load, even with the new server Basil bought for us.

Speaking of, does anyone know for a fact when Windows Vista comes out, I need a new computer.

I'm not going to give up the hope of an Indian Summer here yet. Even if it's only a day or two. 28 deg in Wisconsin at 10:00am

The last predicted snow storm missed us again. No scraping the glass on the TR8 this morning. Fort Collins has notoriously mild winters. Especially for the last ten years. We spend most of the winter snow free while the mountains get feet of the white stuff. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'm hoping I jinx that now and we get a humdinger this year (we need it). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Drove the TR3B on Thusday. Cool in the AM but pleasant in the afternoon. I love driving with the tonneau cover unzipped but over the passenger side. Today it was the MG TD's turn. Too cold for the wife! The MG is older, slower and just as much fun. Keep them on the road!!!

Went for a romp around Albuquerque yesterday with my wife. The lowland colors are in the process of turning. Several others in their LBC's were also out. The mountain fall colors finished up a couple weeks back. This is the time of year when it's the balance of temperatures. Cool enough to ride comfortably without getting chilled.
After being out of commission for the past year with body work and paint, it was trully nice to get around. Even got several lookers when we parked to go out into local shops.
Had a brief moment when a "youngster" in a late model El Camino took it upon themselves to want to race off a light. No contest... but it made my wife chuckle as I reverted to being 16 again....
Hope the temps hang in there a few more weeks!

I did yesterday, came across an Alfa JR. and a GT350. I guess everyone was out with their toys yesterday. I am going to drive it on Tuesday, sunny and 60. I think if that little GT6 is tucked inbetween some Sheriff Cruisers it should be safe.
