Who drove their Triumph today?

what a nice day in Ct /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

my wife decided I should do things around the house today...
so I took the TR6 to Home Depot 4 times...

Oh yea I fixed the Toilet too....

I would have liked to have gone to Home Depot but I did the Wal de' Mart/Super Stop and Shop run with the wife today and loaded up the rear seat area and trunk in the 3. After the shopping run I dropped her off and ran the Seymour/Woodbridge/Naugatuck loop. It was a beautiful TR type of day here! It was a chilly 45 degree F morning yesterday though with the coat on and the heater rehostat set at full speed ahead. However I did See a real nice looking Red TR4 top up at the downtown Rte. 42 light going the opposite direction.

a very good idea. Now, where is my camera??
I drove mine yesterday to fill up and check tyre pressure. I'm always amazed at how many people come upto me and ask questions. One elderly gent offered to give me his Handbook he kept when he owned a TR6.

Just beautiful in Central Ohio today temps in the 70's fall foilage in full bloom & went get some important bills payed Allstate,Cable bill,Harbor Freight,Napa,And having such a good time i decided to go visit my British garage, haven't been their for awhile,to discuss some freindly topics & finally get a dripping oil guage tightned,my wife say at my convience GET IT FIXED!!(It was dripping on her slacks)(Oh Boy)Gained a few lb's pressure at the same time, and for the umteemed time made friends with my signifigent other at the same time. And ABOVE ALL WHITELIGHTNING just was extatic, when we drove up along side a majestic cream colored restored 1954 TD(mg i think?)Tip of the driving cap and a beep-beep & off we went smiling all the way.But as things go here in Ohio its colder tomorrow & UNFORTUNATLY the hardtop will have to go on.Just a another day in the life of my wonderful English iron in WHITELIGHTNING. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Took the 6 and the wife to the Waterford Festival on Sunday. Beautiful 70 degree day which was only sullied once as we pulled into the parking field and one youngster directing traffic commented "Man....sweet MG!" Aaaaaaaghhh! Ah, youth.
That trip marked the farthest from home I have ventured in the 6 since I took ownership in August. We kept the AAA card close at hand in case we needed a tow. Old habits die hard. Beautiful blue skies, curvy tree-lined country roads a green TR6 and a leggy, blonde passenger. Nice.

46 miles in the TR6 after work on Monday. Beautiful, sunny 70 degree afternoon. Car ran flawlessly and as usual, here at the end of the season, I feel I haven't driven it as much as I should have this year.

Things will only get worse next summer as I'll have two LBC's to drive (if I can ever get the TR4 to wake up from its long sleep that is).

Oh, to have such problems ... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I went up to the Lake this weekend to meet with some builders and we decided to bring the TR6 along for some fun. Well let me tell you, I'm glad we did. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful weekend. The colors of the trees on the ride to Ticondaroga along Rt8 and 9N were just awsome. My wife usually complains when we take these rides, (I feel like I've been beat up) but even she had a great time. I've decided that the only way to see the Adirondaks is in a Triumph with the top down.

JerseyGirl's '79 Spifire was driven yesterday... she picked it up at the alignment shop... drove it to work... and then home... but the mechanic mentioned the noise coming fro mthe rear end concerns him.. so when I got home from work, I proceeded to start tearing out the entire rear suspension to replace:

the diff mounting bushings
change diff oil and check gear lash
transmission mounts
exhaust system w/ new Bell stainless system
driveshaft u-joints
(1) axle u-joint and flange

And the kicker? The car has to be back together and running for a classic car drive on Saturday.

Eh... who needs sleep anyway... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I plan to have most of it done tonight.

[/ QUOTE ]While that is theoretically possible with a Herald sedan (since the roof does unbolt), it's not recommended. Fortunately, the sedan's big windows and small pillars mean great visibility for foliage...and just about everything else. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Spitting snow in Wisconsin today. Hard freeze last night. Down into the 20's. Ol Yeller is tucked in nice and snug, but not so snug that when Indian Summer comes on we won't be on the road for a couple of "last" times.

Drove the 3B on Monday evening. Nice only slightly chilly running with the top off. Getting colder now. Is this the end of no top time? I 'll have to get the top and curtains out of the basement and prepare for those few days of driving before it goes into hibernation.

Been driving my 6 for the past week while the Passat is in the bodyshop. Today was 40's and my heater isn't up to it. But... the car really runs great. Put on @ 550 miles this week alone. If the heater was better....

Replaced the head gasket yesterday, then took it for a 35 mile ride, getting a bit nippy out. I almost put the top up..........NAH! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif
