Vent Window Rubber

Does anyone have a way of getting new rubber seals back in a vent window frame?

I've never had trouble just putting them in by hand... stuff the things in the channels. If a bit of "nudge" is needed, a popsicle stick works well as a tool.

The rubber that was in there was really hard to get out. I used a screwdriver and needle nose grips to take it out piece by piece. I'll see if I can round up a popsicle stick. Wondering if I take a bit of dishwashing liquid if that would lubricate it enough to fit easier?

Yep, something liquid & saopy to help it slide....I think the real problem is size - you're working with something small in a tight, tiny place (with just a few corners!).

I have a plastic orange peeler that I stole from the kitchen drawer. They are the perfect size/shape/stiffness for such jobs. You might use glycerin instead of dish detergent so that you do not have a sudsing problem later.

Glycerine is "lube-of-choice" here as well, but I wouldn't think it necessary for the wing window seals.

I got a small plastic putty knife from Ace. Put some soap on the backside of the seal and started working my way around. It did very well. Now I've got to find the body to vent window seal I have around here somewhere and I can reattach it to the car.
