HI see if your plater knows a secret

. Anybody have any tips to get it out??? I am trying not to break it....

Lots of patience , wear a rubber glove to help you grip the glass start at the top and pull up on the frame pulling down on the glass .
Looking at the picture your chrome looks good . To be honest I would polish it and install them . You dont want to bend the frame trying to get the glass out then it will be more expensive for your plater as the metal will need repair as well . Or you may slip and trash the frame and glass .

One of mine will fall out if you look at it, but the other is firmly stuck in. You could try pulling on the rubber if you can get hold of it - this will stretch it and make it thinner and the glass may then be able to be eased out. How about soapy water and a blade to ease it down between rubber and glass? I have not tried any of this myself- but did try putting glass into the main side window frame by stretching the rubber.

As one thought, what about first using a penetrant like PB Blaster, to soak the rubber and then slide between the rubber and glass, a safety razor blade to finish separating on both sides. Then if necessary or make easier, pull apart with the use of rubber gloves.

A water-soluble cleaner like 409 would be better than something like PB Blaster. PB Blaster may make the rubber swell; not what you want. A safety razor between the glass and rubber may also loosen the grip.

Peter, did you solve this? What worked?

I tackled and finished the two windows yesterday. They weren’t too bad. I used an X- Acto Knife and Formula 409. I soaked the window glazing in 409 then used a #17 chiseling flat blade to slide between the glass and glazing. With some care and patience I was able to remove the glass without damage.
