Just came in from garage, big job. Installed dashboard brackets. Boy am I down to nothing to do mostly.

That's one of the nice things about owning a car no one knows much about.

Went to the Elva reunion a couple years ago at Road America.
Only 3 out of 25 Couriers had windscreens & they were all different.

Had some guy looking at the car during the PVGP say something about the Nardi wheel not being original.
(As if that totally disqualified the entire car from being allowed in the Brit paddock)

I told him it was in fact optional equipment.
(He was surprised that I was the owner......I was wearing a Pinto t-shirt /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

I don't think it is original.......He just PMO /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
 
Dave, I have a later '58, HAN 5 9XXX and it only has the groove. Maybe a previous owner wanted to use a 9 stud top, and added the studs. The windshields are different for the true 9 stud frames.

No....The holes are a leftover for where lightness was added. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif (not threaded)

The big question is.....Was that lightness original?

My BE measures 6.25" at the rear, 6" at the front. Thats with 165/65-13 tires and 340# front springs.....
