series 1.5 bonnet headlight conversion

I am considering changing the open headlights to covered. I have heard various opinions on the ease and/or dificulties.
Is there a website/article out there where I can do a little more research and cost analysis?

If there is someone on the forum who has done this I would love to hear from you.

Thank you for your interest.

There are some variations in series 1.5 cars. Some have open lamps in the original (low) position. Some have the raised lamps like series 2 The series 2 and later cars have the chrome "crows foot " part that disguises the fact that the lights were raised. For the life of me I cannot remember how it was done with the low lights. Anyway, you will have to replace the "sugar scoops" that the light mounts into. Since there was a LOT of hand fitting when the cars were built, you can just bet that it will not quite bolt right in. I am not saying don't do it, just that (Like most things on E types) it is likely to be more of a project than it looks like, no matter what the makers say.
