Rotary Sprite

Well finally it's time for paint. I'm going with a 30% flat speed blue below with a set of 2-3/4" offset rally stripes which will be metallic grey.

Not feeling the stripe - a bit monochrome Union Jack or birthday present ribbon but love love love the colour!

Well the stripes are vinyl so I can peel'm off if it looks to sheety. But I feel it need a little more than just paint. I'll see how it looks this weekend after squirting and go from there.

Has anyone tried these Halogen replacement headlights from MOSS?

We're using these on the wife's MGB. Great improvement
over the sealed beams that were on the B.
We're not using any new relays and so far so good.
Just plug and play.
BTW...Kudos on an awesome project.
I can't believe the stock axles lasted that long.
I know with 160 ponies on tap my right foot would get REAL heavy.

Thanks, those look good, where did you get them. And yeah I seem to be wearing out back tires at a good pace but it's fun to drive for sure.

They are the ones you referenced from Moss.
Thankfully the sc/cr box in my Sprite has such a high 1st gear
(2.573) burning rubber isn't much of an option.
To get wheel spin from the 185x60x14 Dunlops requires a
Banzai rev and clutch drop. Not something for the faint of heart even if the drivetrain w/ comp axles is up to the task.
:jester:
Here's a look from head on of the lamps on the B.

I've always liked the Wankel rotary engine. I lived in Germany in the late 1960s when NSU had the RO 80. Beautiful sedan with a rotor engine. I was at the Frankfurt Auto Show when Mercedes unveiled the C111 (triple rotors). A few weeks later I'm cruising down the Autobahn in my Fiat 850 Spider. Since no one else was in sight I was in the left lane doing all the car could do...about 135 kph. I'm on a long straight stretch when I see headlights flashing behind me way in the distance. I casually switch lanes. About the time I'm in the right lane this orange streak (a C111) passes me as if I'm standing still. Had to be nearly double my speed. Obviously left quite an impression.

My father in law had a fascination with that engine as well. He built a "see through" model of the engine from a kit and kept it on his book case. He bought the first rotary powered car (an RX3) ever sold in Knoxville.

I had the see-though model Wankel as well. I was around 14 years old, and an avid model builder. The coolest thing about it was the lighted spark plugs.

Yep, fer real. Runs good. All I had to do was clean up the points. I'll get you some video if you have a smart phone to send it to. I can't seem to ever get youtube video to load.

Finally Paint!!!!!!!!!!!!!
