Road trip spare parts

What reasonable spare part does one need for tr3 on a long road trip? I was thinking:
fuel pump
coil
points and rotor
hose set
fan belt
1 gallon water
1quart oil
Brake fluid
Cell phone
Anyways what would you take?

I would add : a set of plugs,Carb kits( or at least a set of those little cork seals for the jets),Distributor cap, Known good condenser, hose clamps, wiring repair kits, valve cover gasket, tire tube patching kit, and an oil filter kit. You know, if you take all of this, you will likely never need any of it. Forget anything, and it will be the first thing that you need. LBC version of Murphys law.

I carry a LOT of parts... nevertheless on my last long trip the starter failed 1 hour out and I had not packed my spare (fortunately I have an operable hand crank).

I'll assume you don't want to see or contemplate my list but to yours (a good start BTW) I would certainly add a condensor and strongly consider a water pump.

A replacement for that white/black wire that connects the coil to the dizzy will eventually be needed -- you can fashion one out of spare wire on the road but an exact replacement takes little space and hooks up quickly.

If you do not already have your spare fuel pump you might think about carrying an electric as it can be put on in very few of minutes (even in the rain, afterdark, shoulder of the road). On long trips I carry both the mech and electric fuel pump but around town just the electric.

I also carry an air compressor in the TR3A for inflating the spare as mine must be deflated to fit in the compartment.

Everything mentioned is useful. I'd add: fuses and a set of bulbs- one for each light. Wire, electrical and duct tape. The portable air compressor is a good idea, so too is a flashlight.

Just to be sure, I tow a completely restored parts car... you never can be too prepared ya know....Sure it slows down my acceleration, but the piece of mind is worth it.

But really, Small tool kit, fuses, flashlight, Haynes manual, Duct/Electrical tape, a gallon of water... AND most importantly, a cell phone and my AAA card.

Here is the update and yes Geo what all do you bring. My list is still being formulated. In addition, it was nice to hear from across the pond James. My grandfather was from Scotland

1 gallon water
1quart oil
brake fluid
Cell phone
portable air compressor
flashlight.
set of bulbs
electrical and duct tape
condenser
water pump
fuses
that white/black wire
visa card
spark plugs

Anyways what would you take?
George
