I am a first time poster and want to "THANK" all of you for contributing to my appreciation and understanding of Austin Healeys. The knowledge trasfer is significant and for that I am grateful.

A local Rock & Roll radio station asked listeners to send in pictures of their cars to be included in a "Classic Car Calendar". I sent in a picture and mine was selected. I am the month of September and the entire calendar can be viewed here:

KZOK Classic Car Calendar

No that isn't my daughter in the picture but a model. The calenders are being given away free as part of a promotion with the Seattle area Car Toys Stores. There are some incredible cars in this calendar and hope that you agree that my car deserves to be included and that it properly represents the Healey marque.

I have owned my car since '97 (this car once belonged to Reid Trummel) and my fondest memory is driving to Lake Tahoe with my 11 year old daughter for Open Roads 2002.

Thanks
Norm

Welcome to the forum, Norm. That is a beautiful car and a neat calendar. Being a fellow Seattlite and KZOK listener, I will head to Car Toys to pick one up. Does the model go with the calendar, or the car? And are you sure she is not your niece?

OK boys, settle down. The model in the picture although attractive, is absolutly young enough to be YOUR daughter. My instruction to the creative people doing the photo shoot was to put the model behind the car. They clearly had a better handle on who would be viewing the calendar and chose to put her up front.

For the record, the model was 18 years old and they had to airbrush the tattoo off.

Some very nicely done photos. I'd forgotten how beautiful the Model T Ford was!

Thanks for posting!

Norm,

Great looking Healey. Is it the darker shade of BRG, Spruce or another shade of color? Sometimes hard to tell in a photo with lots of reflections. Have you painted it recently or did you get it this way from Reid (I can direct my questions to him if that's the case).

I was at Open Roads too and had a great drive up and back from Southern California. Fond memories and can't wait to get my car back together to enjoy more!

Cheers,
John

Good eye John, yes it is a little darker (and less yellow tint) then the British Racing Green. Reid did the major restoration on this car and he selected the Green over white color combination. I have grown quite fond of it and notice that more and more people are choosing to paint their cars that color. I had the car painted early 02 prior to making the trip to Lake Tahoe. I'm not sure what the exact green color is, but will check with my body man and let you know.

Thanks
