Hey all,
Never have figured out how to post the correct size pictures here but if anyone is interested, here is a website address for my shutterfly photo site (wish I knew how to make it a link)

1958AustinHealeyBN6L964.shutterfly.com

I purchased it as a partially completed rolling chassis with the body, paint and drivetrain done and started putting it back together this past December. Done everything else myself.

Obviously my pride and joy and a lot of credit to getting it running correct, fixing things, figuring out stuff, etc to y'all on this forum. Still a work in progress as they all are but big stuff all done. Now looking forward to driving it to my first British Car Days at Patriots Point in Charleston,SC in late October hosted by British Car Club of Charleston.

Regards,
Mike Lewis

Beautiful car Mike, I always liked the black/red duotone color. Looks like a very enviable working environment you have there. One question, what's the blue stuff under the chassis??

It's photo number 35 of 76 that caught my eye. I now see it's the lift frame rails.

Hey Johnny,
Wish that was my working environment, that's the shop that did the body, drivetrain and paint prior to me finding it uncompleted last year. I have a garage floor like most us to crawl around on ! The blue rails are the lift as Greg mentioned. BTW, did you sell your BN6 yet ?
Regards,
Mike

Hi Mike, yes I did sell my BN7. A nice fellow, and a member of BCF, purchased the car. Sorry but I never noticed those were the lift rails, that'll be the last time I search the internet without my glasses.

Copy the "link" from the browser window (where you would type the www.blahblahblah) and "paste" it into the post: https://1958austinhealeybn6l964.shutterfly.com/ Viola!

Picture #5 looks like a Jaguar XK door; #6 looks like it's from the same car (#21 has the engine in the background)...

Is pic #44 about how you received it? Still a long way to go, but a nice headstart on a ground up restoration!

Picture #74: your shift boot (rubber) is upside down; the "cup" goes over the "can" to exclude debris

Hey Randy,
That's right, I got it as shown in pictures 43 to 47 where I took over to
complete it. It had set for about 2 years as the shop owner was moving from
Virginia to South Carolina after he closed his restoration business. Think his
shop was called Classic Car Emporium and specialized on LBC's.

Thanks for noticing the shift boot as I had no idea it was on upside down !
Probably explains why it tends to pull out when I have to put it in reverse.
I'll correct that this weekend as kinda awkward sticking it back in every
time I go from reverse to a forward gear !!

BTW, huge fan of M roadsters and the M coupe, almost got one a few years
ago and was like driving a go kart as so responsive. Had a E36 M3 at the time.
Instead I now drive a Honda Civic hybrid, go figure. Thank goodness got the Healey !

Regards,
Mike

AH, the famous shift boot debate starts again! Some are "innies" and some are "outties".
Both the sideshift and the centershift gear lever boots are installed wrong more often than not__they just "look" like they should go the opposite way as they do.

It's why all the centershift cars I see have torn boots; the lever pivots from the bottom, not the middle

Hey Randy,
Got the boot put in correctly and now it doesn't want to pull out when I
shift into reverse. Perfect, no longer have to stick it back on to prevent
from being roasted by the heat coming through the tranny cover.
Thanks,
Mike

btw - was a 96 M3 so that was an E46 body, right, not E36 ?
