it's lookin good Jerry. OOoo... is that a bit of dust build up I see on the dash? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif I started cleaning out the interior of my 'B this past weekend armed with window cleaner, Armor All, Q-Tips, and a clean rag. I must have gone through about 100 Q-Tips getting all the gunk out from the little crevices around the guage bezzels; particularly the two knobs for the heater and air circulation. They're so close to the bottom of the dash that crud loves to wedge itself in and stay there. The vents... well, I think I'm going to have to go back after those. My dash almost looks like new; even if it does have a plastic cap on it to hide the cracks /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/pukeface.gif On of these days, I'll get around to replacing the pad, but I have a whole bunch of other stuff to do on the interior and suspension first.

jaybird- No,..the seats will go in next week...I have a sneaking suspicion that the main reason you're asking about the seats, is so I'll have no excuse to put off taking that picture with the snoopy goggles /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif)

Hi All,

Nunyas- lol,..the entire car is COVERED in dust from the bodyshop,...they'll clean her up tomorrow,..then I'll go in with my q-tips and "can o'air" and finish the job.
BTW,..I have a dash cover on mine too. I have a new dash pad to install,..but from the horror stories I've heard about the install,..I may just forget about it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Radford,..Ya it's a pretty nice dash set. I'm actually replacing it, as it is very reddish, and the rest of the wood trim (door cappings, door handles, center console parts) are all walnut,...so I re-ordered the set in walnut /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Jaybird-heeheeheeheeeheee!

Jerry,

Looks great man! I can't wait to get mine painted and to start putting it back together again. Watch the top tho', folding it back like that can crease and ruin the plastic windows.

Hi John,...Thanks!

And thanks for the tip about the top. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That top is headed for the dumpster (all torn and tattered),..I just put it on for the car's stay in the shop, so I wouldn't worry about ruining the new top in the shop /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Engine and tranny work starts Monday! Yippee!

Jerry ... your MGB is looking fantastic. Can't wait to hear about the complements when you start driving it around. Your timing for getting it back on the road couldn't have been better! Love the wood dash BTW.

Hopefully just a few short weeks til I'm roadworthy! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Beautiful job, Jerry... Love the color too! It should have been an original choice for the B's. Anything new since the last post? I.E. Are you on the road yet?? Congratulations and perfect timing as well......

Hi Guys,

Thanks,..I getting really excited and a lil impatient!

Brian- Thanks,..Nope,..not on the road yet,..I spent Friday in the shop, cleaning and painting the steering rack and cleaning overspray off of the wiring harness. With that out of the way,..I think that engine installation will start this week,...I'm just waiting on delivery of the new clutch and some other things that it's best to replace, while we have the engine out. My mechanic doubts that i'll be ready for my trip to Montreal the 3rd week of May ,...but it should be done some time right around there.

Jarrod- Thanks,...I sure wish I was driving her around,...was sitting in her for a while though! I've actually been registered and insured this whole time,..around here you have to be, if your going to be towing it around like I have.
You're right ,...this post has gotten super long,...which is especially funny seeing as I still haven't done the interior! LOL

Hiya All,

Well,...things are moving right along at the shop.

There's stuff in the engine bay now /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

And we put the new overdrive transmission in yesterday,...pretty fancy!

Wiring is just about done.

And just for the sake of this thread, I've actually glued in a piece of carpet /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Here's a shot of the engine bay,...I love the gas props we put in,..the car really opens up and says "Ah" now. lol

Jaybird,..you're still making me laugh,....but I really don't do pictures of me. It gets so complicated,..wide angled lenses, scaffolding and such lol

All for now,

Jerry /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
