The biggest impediment I have seen lately (keeping me from ordering anything from the UK) is shipping.
Is there some way you folks can address the heavy shipping fees that seem to be standard now?
I know that a lot of that is merely passing the true costs on to the consumer, but I wonder if just a bit of creativity could make this more palatable?

Oh - and welcome, thanks for supporting the BCF!

We have managed to negotiate cheaper rates for our most popular products / weight classes!

I completely understand where you are coming from and as we are a small company in the scheme of things we had it even worse. One way that we have managed to keep the rates down is that most of our products are our own products built for us direct from the factory or even in our own workshop from the bare materials! This means we are able to subsidise overseas shipping where in the UK we would offer free shipping!

Have a look around and give us a go.... if you need assistance i am here !

Many thanks,

Rob

My friend, while we welcome you here; I'm afraid your success will be limited.

You see, many here already have cars in boxes, that's the problem.

We need to get the cars out the boxes and back into car form. :jester:

haha!

We can send them in a bag if that helps

But seriously, they are a fantastic product for people with restoration projects or many cars!

Is your in a box set for a sprite Mark one suitable? and by 90% of the way... where's the other 10% ?

The extra 10% is basically the high chromed bumper bolts (although these are being manufactured for us and then we will need to get them chromed by our friendly chrome guys!) We also do not supply the internal engine bolts at the moment!

Other than that you are getting everything you require!

I hope we can help you further!

Hello,

That is correct, it is a complete set! We have included many of the variations into this set so it covers most years etc!

The reason for the Midget and Sprite sets not being a combined Spridget is down to interior fasteners mainly

I hope that helps, If you have any further questions or require any assistance please let me know!

Rob,
Welcome and thanks for being a BCF supporting vendor.
Looking at your cylinder heads, I noticed your webpage designates them at Stage I..begging the question, do you offer a stage II?

Thanks,

Great question!

Our engineers will build cylinder heads to any spec you like! I believe on the website at the moment we have Stage 1 and Stage 3!

What we have noticed is that peoples versions of Stage 1,2,3 alter. If you have a certain application in mind i can get our technicians to recommend a head a quote for you?

Many thanks,

Rob

How are these fastener sets packaged/labelled?

Hello,

There are pictures of some of the sets on our Facebook store page!

The sets come in 3-5 (depending on the set) large, robust plastic assortment boxes. These are clear boxes to enable you to see the contents!

The fasteners are set out in diameter and length order to allow quick selection. There is a separate box / organiser for the nuts and washers!

The sets have been set up for ease by our workshops, this layout is how they find it easiest to work on restorations that come in to us!

I hope that answers things for you!

Many thanks,

Rob

I noticed the kit I received did not have the bolts for the steering rack mounts (and this was the first bolt I looked for in the kit). It was a coarse thread (not as fine as the other majority bolts).

Also, no screws/bolts for the door hinges to the body, and no bolts for the front lever shocks.

I feel like I got ripped off at this point. A kit that was supposed to have "every bolt and nut for the car with the exception of chrome bumper bolts and engine bolts" is FAR from that.

It is in NO WAY an ULTIMATE Bolt/Fastener kit.

Joey, Did you contact him?
I'm curious about his response and how he plans to rectify the situation.

The open forum is NOT the place to resolve individual vendor issues!!!!! Read the rules! If you have an issue with any vendor, contact them 1st and give them a chance to rectify or at least explain their position. If you are not satisfied after that, you can post in the Vendor Review forum with the specific details of your experience (and the vendor can reply there if they want to).

Wait until you give them a chance to respond to you off forum or PM before you go off and start bashing a vendor - any vendor. If you are not happy with things after that, like I said - post in the proper forum - the Vendor Review forum. Thats why its there!

I'm locking this thread. Once you hear from them if your are not happy (or even if you are), please post in the vendor review forum with just the specifics of your experience (no name calling)
