I have a Midget

After 40 years of having Sprites,MGA's,MGB's and Mini's I now own a 1965 Midget MkII. It is a bit of a basket case but may end-up using it as a daily driver. My '69 Sprite is a rust free California car and I am parinoid to drive it here in the Pacific "Northwet" (always raining), but the Midget already has enough rust damage that I should be able to drive it without caring.
Hope to have it running in a month or two.
Pictures to follow after the rainstorm slows down some.
Bill

Oh Bill is a charter member, with MGB's, MGA's, Sprites, Dune Buggy's and who knows what else under his belt. This is just his first Midget!

Now you are truly a Spridgeteer Bill - having both versions of the car.

(like me!!)

Love the outdoor carpeting on the door panel...

One more Spridget survives -- it's in good hands, too!

Bill - Sweet find!!

Wow. What can I say. You've arrived.

ummm did you notice the tranny is missing?

m

grill,lights, and top, too.

Bill - you do know that's one of the hardest of all the Midgets to findd? I got mine last year from over in north Georgia...but have been looking for some time.

Good score....

The Pacific NW is rich with Midgets & Sprites...

(do you feel another thread coming on?? I do...)

HooBoi! Early car! Visions of 1275 all bumped up an' ~nasty~ come to mind.

Neat!

1275 yes- but just stock and probably a Datsun (or maybe rib-case) tranny but hopefully this car can be just a common daily driver that I won't be afraid to drive (once I get the Astroturf out of it!!). I will use the junk 1275 that I bought to test out my Datsun tranny conversion kit and the out ribbox that originally came in my '69.
I really like the steel dash and the flatter back deck with removable top and hope to keep it rust-free enough to keep driving it up in the Northwet (Seattle) for a long time.

I have a feeling that most of the NW homeless Sprites and Midgets are going to end up at RickB's and BillMn's gargages. Nice find for both of you...I will be happy with just one as long as it will run. Sooon, very soon.

it must rain alot for the astro turf to grow that high

fun haveing a driver that you dont have to worry about and just have fun is a good way to go

I am of the opinion there are a lot of these little cars sitting under cover around here, just needing the light of day for Bill or me to come swooping in with Bill's tow dolly!

Now for me to get them some shelter - unfortunately I don't have a acre of covered shop for these cars... yet! Gotta go check those lottery tickets today!!!

We are also building up a sizable collection of parts, motors, transmissions, etc... Going to have to think of something to do about that!

You should have seen some of BillM's (who is my older brother) earlier cars. I remember a Vauxhall Victor that did not have floorboards, made for exciting times in the rain.

Yes- Plywood is good in many places in LBCs, floors, seats, etc!
Bill
PS New York winters were heck on LBCs back in the 60's

Edit-- Basil- I like your "vocabulary" checker!
Hadn't had to use it before

Tony -

What makes that Midget so hard to find / desirable? I'm curious, mine is a 64 Sprite (I think he has rollup, and I have side curtains).
