I have a Midget

Only made for a very short time.

The rarest of all "mass production" Midgets is the GAN2 with 9601 made, second is the GAN1 with 16082.

And Bryan and I each have one (but mine's better looking).

I have both a Midget MkI (GAN1/2) and a Midget MkII (GAN3).

MkI's were built from June 1961 until March 64; MkII's were built March 1964 until October 1966. 25,681 MkI's (GAN1/2) were built and 26,601 MkII's (GAN3) were built.

GAN1 had a 948 engine; GAN2 had a 1098 while GAN3 had a 1098 engine with enlarged main bearings, a different head and exhaust.

And the GAN2 had front disc but was still a real roadster so it's the best Midget ever made......Tony's GAN2 is nice too I guess....

Well this thread has taken an interesting turn...

I just checked my Midget and it's VIN is: GAN2L19452

It seems to have the original 10CG motor (smaller bearings) and ribcase transmission.

I finally got the trunk open and there's no rust back there.
If it had new floors the car would be a keeper. I have a replacement passenger side floor - one of the parts I got from the PO.

Did anyone ever try that adhesive for gluing new floors in?

Only way to go! FUSOR is the product I use...I have a special gun that mixes the 2-part adhesive as it lays it on the places to be glued.

New floors on a Midget are easy! But a new grille will set you back around $300+!

Here are my MkI & MkII & my MkIII (RWA) & 1500:

Cool, mine is GAN2L19251, only 201 away from yours! I too have the original 1098CG and those smaller bearings are highly prized, they allow the motor spin up much higher and faster.... :confuse:...not.

Tony, your GAN2 looks a little high in front like mine was, infamous VB wrong spring syndrome?

Infamous "no engine in car" syndrome.

Neat - so your's came off the line just a little while before mine did.

I think I'll talk to BillM about the adhesive, I believe he bought some and I don't know if he's tried to use it yet.

Well, I am what you would call HIGHLY BIASED, but I am most definately partial to the GAN2 - GAN1 Midgets (and twin Sprites). Since we're posting pictures, here's one of mine.... (better looking than Jeff's too, though that's all in the eye of the beholder)

Gorgeous midget Bryan. Black and crome go so well together. I've owned a couple of black cars and I don't envy you the work it takes to keep them clean though. I see you still have some of that white stuff for a background as do we.
KA.

Rick-
What adhesive are you talking about?
If it is for the upholstery then Scotch 77 is the ticket!

The pictures were taken in Nov and Feb, but yes, we still have a lot of it. It has been warm enough to melt some off the past few days, but it will take a while to get rid of it all. I think we will have some under hedges and in the shade until June this year.
Oh yes, the car is hard to keep clean, but, as you know, is small enough where it don't take long.

Talking about the stuff you can use to glue in body panels, Fusor.
