Leisure Suit Larry was heir to foreign neighbor Keith's eight counterfeit beige sleighs that he received from the feisty caffeinated weightlifters. Neither he nor Keith, who was a citizen of another sovereign country, had the height to use the sleighs, so Larry had to either forfeit the inheritance or trade it to purchase his favorite eiderdown quilt.
 
Since they're not going to make them any longer, they can't go metric (1 meter = 39.37 inches, 3.37 inches longer than a yard). :smile:
Sadly even the inch has gone metric: since 1959, it is defined as 2.54 cm.

Long gone are the days when an inch was the width of a man’s thumb, or later β€œthree grains of barley, dry and round, placed end to end lengthwise”, or β€œthe combined lengths of 12 poppyseeds” > Inch | unit of measurement <
