As George Carlin says, “have you ever noticed that anyone driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?”

When I was working out of an office downtown I'd go up and down I71 to get there and back home. Went with the flow of traffic so if it was slow I was slow, if it was faster so was I. Got passed one day when it was running about 70 by someone blazing up the breakdown lane. Next day found it was a woman I worked with who mentioned passing me and asked if I always drove "like a little old granny"...

Mrs JP and I had to drive in rush hour yesterday - the worst traffic I have experienced since Covid began and Oh my goodness people seem to have simultaneously lost their manners and their ability to drive.

Even just on city streets round here with 35mph speed limits I see people driving as if the road was completely empty, speeding, abrupt turns either direction, and sometimes from the opposite lane. Had a guy in the left lane turn right across in front of me, I hit the brakes and missed him but he leaned across and gave me the single digit salute along with screaming about how I need to watch where I was going. Don't understand why some get so angry and reckless.
