BJ8 Tonneau Bag Dimensions

Hi All,

I am looking for the dimensions of the BJ8 Tonneau Cover Bag and its accompanying Tonneau Support Bar Bag. My intention is to make a reasonable replacement for each.

MacGregor sells them. He is a nice guy. If you don't want to buy them, he may be willing to give the dimensions.

Mine is 18 1/2 by 14 inches. Then there is a 7 inch flap that folds over. The flap is V cut so it fits inside the 18 1/2 inch end. But I don't know if it is orignial or a replacement.

LegalBill, I appreciate the reference to McGregor, however, I would personally feel uncomfortable asking for information that would negatively affect his income.

I am not looking to create a concourse item but something reasonable to keep my tonneau from flopping around the boot.

The support bar bag is hockey stick shaped and is generally 5 inches wide through out its length. The bend at the bottom is open and there is a flap of around an extra 4 inches of material. The return measures around 11 inches. Have a look on the AH Spares site for code number HOD168 to get the picture.

By the way, the material is / or looks to be, Armacord in two pieces,one on top of the other and sewn around about 10mm in from the edges, leaving the flap edge open of course. There is a stout ribbon 1 inch wide and 48 inches long sewn at mid point onto the return leg - see the diagram HOD168

I understand completely, Ray. I just know that sometines it can be frustrating finding correct information for these cars and we have to resort to things we would not normally do. If it were me and I didn't want to pay for a finished one, I'd order the bulk material from McGregor and ask for the dimensions.
