The CF seat has been stared by first taking a plaster cast from back.
Plaster cast then, measured and cut in half, vertically.
One side has been cut into segments. I can transfer lines onto strips of ply, and mount into wooden frame.
I'm allowing approx' 5mm extra all round.
A piece of wood cut to follow "spine" line, is fixed to provide attaching points for ply strips etc.
Once strips are all in place, gaps filled, I should have a convex representation.
I can then lay up one thin layer of Gelcoat & around two layers of Fiberglass, to have a FG plug.
Looking at various seats, the strengthening shaping at rear looks similar in a whole range.
I'd like to go somewhere and chuck one round for a while.
The two that have caught my eye are these:
I cut the strips where I judged the lines to be reasonably flat, compared to rest.
More ribs at base, eight per side.
Light spray color to mark casting section to ply. Stanley for final line.
Cast half of spine line, from plaster.
Ribs screwed to each other for most working.
A base casting was taken while I was sat in Spit, but isn't really adequate. As the floor is going (Shouldn't every lady have a little black dress ?) and maybe there's some MM's to grab, figure, it'll have to be re done.
I keep getting flashes of yellow/ Kevlar, maybe piping, spine line, or such.
Any interesting seat designs that have caught anyone's eye, please post.
Many thanks.
