Richmond VA 1960 Bugeye Bringing Miss Eva back to life.

Gauges arrived. I am looking forward to seeing them installed.

Door Panels

I am going to cover the panels in black leather. With my seats I am going to keep the panels flat to the door to maximize the interior space.. Also the top of the panel will be strong enough to be used to pulled the doors shut.

My Pattern for the leather.

I used a liquid nail to hold my aluminum in place before I cover it.

Stock Wheel was just too big. Went with a 13".

I really wanted to keep the Stock Vintage Steering Wheel. It was just too big in that little cockpit.

Wheel and Adapter was a very easy install; however, with everything the steering column surround had to be cut out so the wheel would go down further on the shaft.

Round Two Door Panels.

Used a cutting wheel to trim out of the sheet.

Better fit and then trimmed and ground to form fit the doors. I also ended up just using black vinyl.
I am liking the new design much better and the glue I was using as well.

It was worth doing it a simpler way and I got better results.

Re: Round Two Door Panels.

Did you use that aluminum frame as well or just the piece you cut out?

Bonnet Hood Stays

With the new hood stays I could not get the bonnet to close completely. The issue was the new stays top holes were not drilled out to allow the stay bolts shafts to bolt up flush with the bonnet.

Fan blade for a 1275 is a tight fit for timing chain cover with the PVC canister. I made a spacer and added an extra washer for the fan blades to rotate without rubbing. Now I have a small issue with the old style vertical radiator.

There was a spacer required from the factory. I think it’s about 1/4 inch thick. DA942DED-CA71-4D07-BAC9-96B0D8A74420.jpg

she sure is happy!

Looking good Miss Eva. Bugsy is going into my Brother In Laws garage this weekend for teardown to start. Picking up lift on Saturday AM, Engine and tranny out planned for next Saturday. Got a painter lined up for end of March. Bugsy will be handsome soon. OEW and Red Interior. Fortunately all Sub assemblies have already been worked over and updated for Front and Rear Suspension, Rear End, new Upholstery Kit, Carpet, and, new Wiring Harness on the shelf, 210 Tranny will go off for a look inside and new parts and pieces, making a funny noise that wasn't there 1,000 miles ago so I am being pre-emptive. Can't wait to get started.

Looking good!

Finally have some time to spend on the Bugeye.

Worked on finishing the pedal assembly. When I converted to a dual brake cylinder assembly the housing changes the spring attachments.

Then it was on to mounting the rear chrome over-riders and hand made lower brackets.
