Richmond VA 1960 Bugeye Bringing Miss Eva back to life.

Installed the drive shaft after the power-train was installed.
Taped the yoke to stiffen it. Added the rope so I could break the tape after it was installed.
Funny to think about the effort to strip and paint the driveshaft and in the end there was about 5 inches exposed.

Pretty easy install with a four post lift. Driveshaft has to be fed over the top or the rear axle. I don't have a gas tank installed so I am not sure if it would not give the clearance needed?

Thanks. Started in the garage today at 5:30 AM and spent most of my time there until 5:30 PM. I got everything in place with no missing fasteners and all the tools put away.

Motor mounts
I knew there was something about them sorry I did remember
exactly what the issues was oh well it’s in!

Shift Lever Anti-rattle kit.

Kit was a quick install except I had issues with the new plunger was in my opinion oversize. I used the old one and it was visible there was a difference.

Now I have to figure if I want to use this style shift lever. I think I can split the Bugeye style to fit and then glue it back together so I don't have to use a shifter boot.

My plunger was too big also. I put a bolt through it with nuts on both sides. I chucked it in a drill and slowly turned it down.

Trial fit on Seat and Adjusters.

Kind of fun to see parts starting to come off the rack. I needed to trial fit and bolt in the seats with the steering wheel
mounted and see if I will have any room.
I fit but it would not be ideal for a coast to coast drive.

This was also the first time I got to see the tonneau cover fitted with the steering wheel.
It was right on the money.

those are bright seats! and never seen matching seats and gear shift knob before. :smile:
 
I wonder if you could color match the seats with vinyl paint and paint the ribbed floor runner (Lowes) that matches the original door lining. The matched door pockets and the lining would really give it a pop!

and I do appreciate the pop! was chatting at cruise night tonight in fact - next week is British Car Day - 1000+ British Cars in one place. While wonderful I can say with some assurance that the 60th Mini or B or TR6 or Midget will look very much like the first. I get that people want the car to be well restored - and restored to factory but, it would be fun to see period mods or CB radios or just about anything - yours will definitely stand out! and I mean that in a really really good way!
 
Big and little items left to do.
Change out steering wheel to 13".
Gauge Installation.
Electrical wiring. Lights, Turn-signals, Engine.
Front Bonnet Install.
Carbs need to be rebuilt.
Fire up the engine.
Align Front-end.
Rear Lever Shocks.
Exhaust
Mirrors
Bleed Brakes Clutch
Fuel System line and tank.
The list is getting smaller.

Check all fasteners one last time.

Clutch Slave Cylinder

The top bolt is so hard to reach. I could only get to it with the BE on a lift. I did see Bugeye Guy makes one that changes the top bolt and eases installation.
I have to pick up a clevis pin so disregard the bolt and nut.
