    Missing Tranny part

    Folks,
I'm trying to put back together my 61 TR3 after 20 years of being garaged, in parts. We, my sons and I, are ready to put the gearbox back on the engine. We cannot find a part that is listed in the MOSS catalog as a COVER clutch housing, see no 62 on the attached catalog cut out. The part is no longer available. Any suggestions on how I proceed?
    Thanks

Sorry the picture did not attach. But if you go to this web page https://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/View...eIndexID=29131 it is part no 62.

    Hi Earl -

I know I saw one the last day or so on eBay, but it's not there today. Keep checking; they come up from time to time.

I'll add that I don't have one on mine, and haven't had any problems. (But then, I only drive it very little.)

Thanks, I went to the Ebay page and now that I've seen one and my tranny will give me the dimensions I'll make one. It looks to be nothing but a shield that covers the gap below the block, and keeps road debris out of the clutch area.
    Thanks

    Re: Missing Tranny part

It would be pretty easy to make one, if you don't find one at auction.

Or, a number of the smaller Triumph vendors who have parts cars would likely have a used one. Triumphs Only https://www.triumphsonly.com/ tends to be a little pricey but would almost undoubtedly have it. Ted Schumacher at www.tsimportedautomotive.com might, too.

    Cheers!

I'll confess that I don't have one on the TR3A. Didn't notice for the first 20 years or so, after that I suppose it didn't seem urgent.

That would be Geo's special "Gopher Grinder" mod.
