Hi,
My M100 SE turbo has developed a fault. If it was any other car, I'd say that the engine sounds as though there's an ignition system fault or that the timing needs adjustment, or that there was something the matter with the fuel delivery.
However, after starting to examine the engine more closely, I was shocked to find, or more accurately, not to find, a distributor!!
The yellow engine fault light isn't on. When driving it's as though the engine runs fine for 1/2 second and then no power for 1/2 second and then power again, basically it's misfiring. The misfire happens at idle and at all speeds.
I did have previously have a fault with the cam angle sensor, which I re soldered a coulple of years ago, and its been fine since then and also, the engine warning lights not on, so I don't think it's that.
I've tried new plugs and HT leads.
I'd appreciate any suggestions, and also any insights about how the ignition system / injectors actually work.
Many Thanks
Will
