Right, Tom. I have the original pump I think.. No grease fitting, but with the 1 inch slot. This car sat for 20 years..it's locked up. I bought a new one from TRF. There is about a 3/16 hole drilled in the casting at the bottom at the impeller end. I'm told that is a weep hole. OK, that makes sense. But there is an identical hole in the casting at about the 1:30 position..looking at the pump installed. Don't know what that is. Thought it might be an oil hole, like motors had in the old days. Thought it might be a mistake..you know..oops, that's wrong..I'll just drill another. Thought it might be a vent..don't know about that. Seems like oil and other assorted engine crud would get in and plug it. So, is it a mistake..should I fill it with something..or is it supposed to be there?
