What's 2011 Look Like?

The dry weather has my racing itch needing a scratch a little early this year. The vintage schedule looks pretty full for me year if everything goes well. Chassis dyno tuning next month should have the big Healey ready for SOVREN's Sprint Sprints at Seattle Pacific Raceway May 14-15 https://www.sovren.org/. Next is Steve Earle's GRL Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival (formally Wine Country Classic) at Infineon Raceway June 2-5 https://www.generalracing.com/. Then to PIR my home track for HMSA's Portland Historics July 8-9 https://www.hmsausa.com/index.html. August looks empty, but usually gets filled with street car events. September's both the Columbia River Classic at PIR and the Fall Final back at Seattle's Pacific Raceway. I'm still on the fence, but leaning towards participating in the Maryhill Hill Climb event October 1-2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icSvgVgieKY This is a great event but I have had scheduling conflicts with it in the past.

Yes I am getting the itch as well.

My son's wedding conflicts with the VDCA Wild Hare race so my first event will be the Jefferson 500 May 13-15. I can't wait!

I'm see Micheal at the Jefferson 500 (at Summit Point, WV). The week after that, I'm heading to the New Hampshire Vintage.

Next week I'm going karting with a bunch of guys from the race club. :thumbsup:

A friend who owes me some favors recently set up a rolling road and has offered me access to it tomorrow. Do you have any suggestions as to what I should be looking for, doing and not doing, etc? What gear do you start pulls in?

Hey Michael -

If you're thinking of taking one of the Elva's in I would use the time to set-up air/fuel and timing. I've spent the last couple sessions getting my triple 2" SU HD8's dialed in for the different tracks I run with various needles combinations. With webers you'll need to take some different jets if you have them. My first time on the dyno we found 7hp with a timing change and another 5 by changing out the ram pipes. My car run well before I brought it in............
and really well after. Easiest 12hp gain I've ever received.

Me, my dad and Hap will be at the Jefferson 500 with two MGBs. The other big event will be the MG focus event at Lime Rock this fall.
