I abide by the 45/40 rule
anything under 45” tall should not be driven under 40 F
That means that canvas is only used behind paintings around here.

great articulation of a good policy - in South Dakota (in real terms) that gives you what, one, two days of driving per year?

but yes I’m on borrowed time now I’m sure we are going to pay dearly for this amazing fall we had and this early winter.

And JP, a Canuck, is giving us South Dakotans a hard time!! [Course I realize JP is in the banana belt of Canada!]

Just joshing, Kurt.:jester:

I like my Bugeye's hardtop so much that it is virtually a permanent feature. It's some kind of aftermarket hardtop, much lighter than the factory one; very simple, smooth design and IMO looks really good (see my signature pic below).

I know it seems like a shame to miss open-air motoring, but with the side curtains in the boot (also pretty permanently) it's still pretty "airy" and the hardtop keeps the sun and rain off me on the long trips I typically use the car for, such as 930 miles, each way, Louisville to Waco roundtrip last July, and 325 miles each way, Louisville to Guntersville Lake, Alabama, roundtrip in October.

Funny you should mention it. After the 1,800+ mile round trip from Louisville to Waco last July, my backside was getting pretty sore. The driver's seat cushion foam has seen better days. However, I went the cheap-and-easy route to remedy the situation:

Seat Cushion from Amazon

Works a treat!

My first BE had Mk3 seats swapped in. When I got hold of the one I now have with the stock seats I did a swap. IMHO the Mk3 seats are much more comfortable. Still regular stretch and bladder breaks are welcome. The seven gallon gas tank is a bonus....it forces a stop!.

Kurt.

I'm assuming that mid Canada hockey isn't going so well. Actually, I really like Canada. Was up your way, Doug, in 2012 driving the "Ice Fields Parkway" up to Jasper and plan on seeing more of Canada.

Also got to scope out a homestead to move to when our politicians make this country unliveable! :concern:[ Course I hear you folks are building a wall!!]:rolleyes2:

Bugsy was out and about last night on a run to Kroger. Lots of rain and fog out. Learned the Hardtop rear window fogs up real well and nothing you can do about it. Closing Heater Vents did indeed clear the windshield. I was surprised. Sunny and 50's in Dayton tomorrow and Bugsy will get some errands run.
