Well, The old girls sheet metal went to the paint shop Monday, probably have it for a month, not sure. Never thought I'd reach this stage. I've restored cars before in the past and some were real beauties, but for some reason I have more interest in this car than any in the past. Maybe it's because I've been beating on this thing for the past 5 years, never worked on any car that long! PJ

The tub is done and waiting for paint. The front fenders are taking a lot of work to make them right. I never touched the front fenders so I didn't realize just how bad they were. A lot of ripples in them for some reason and they had deep scratches in them also. Looked like someone in the past used a floor sander to remove some paint! Might see a sample of the red tomorrow. The shop is doing a great job so far, which actually doesn't surprise me. Hey Paul,

I've been holding my breath to see some Regency Red paint and I'm starting to turn blue. Any updates?

Funny you brought that up Rick. The tub, bonnet and side panels were painted Wednesday. I haven't seen them yet, but going to the shop this morning and hopefully all is well! I'll get some pics. PJ

Didn't see a whole lot at the paint shop, hoping it would be finished and ready to roll. Only the fire wall was almost done. The tub is being prepped for polishing and buffing. I'll probably pick it up Tuesday next week. Pretty color, just wish the whole thing was done. Here's the only picture of it so far. The florescent lighting lightened it up a bit in the photo, it is a tad darker. Water spots and run off is all over it.
Only one pic as the fumes in where the tub is were horrible, so I grabed one shot and vacated the room. PJ

I was just going through photos of the car from the beginning and never dreamed I'd get this far with it.
Good feeling, but a ways to go yet. Now I have to shift from the panel beating mode to the panel grooming mode! :excitement: PJ

I don't remember if I showed this before, which is nothing unusual, but I made up custom heater lines that came out fairly well. Here's a couple pics. The pipe on the right side was too short by 1 inch, so I made another to get it further away from the carb bowl. PJ

I hope this snow were getting today doesn't stick around, I won't take my enclosed trailer out on slippery roads. We have many hills here and crowned roads, not a good combination for pulling a trailer. Supposed to pick up the tub Tuesday, now that's questionable. PJ

Well, I'll pick the tub up tomorrow. The paint is gorgeous and looks like glass. Tomorrow I'll have a photo of it. Today their doing fine detailing. I was told that when the car is all together, to bring it back so they can go over it and remove all finger prints and any scratches that might get on it during re assembly. He wants no flaws on the car before it is shown. I knew he was fussy, but that was a surprise. :excitement: PJ

Ok the tub is home! Finally! There's a problem with taking pictures of it! The paint is so shinny, it picks up everything around it in a reflection. I'll have to get some outside pics when it's on the chassis. PJ

Thanks Rick, I have the side panels also, but the rest is still in the paint shop. The tub is all I need for now anyway. Get it mounted and I can start making it look like a car again. :encouragement:

Fantastic!

Got to feel good to have that tub home so you can continue with the rebuilding work.

Your right Drew, but it's on the downside of the hill now! I hope it doesn't take near as long to finish it as it did to get to this point. 4.5 years! Like to have it done sometime next Summer. PJ
