A friend has lost reverse in his 75 TR6. I discovered a sheared fulcrum pin PN 106448 or Moss 848-390. I believe this has happened because of the reduced disengagement caused by excessive crankshaft end play and excessive force to grab reverse until it snapped. My Question: how far do I have to tear down the gearbox to replace this pin? It will not "just pop out" due to interference with the 1st gear and location of the sliding reverse idler. Anything more than pulling the tail shaft housing and pulling the reverse idler shaft will mean I have to farm out the gearbox, probably for a complete overhaul. Thanks for your insight.
