I'm having troubles fitting lens and trim onto the rubber body of the rear turn signals- how does one stretch the rubber enough to fit particularly the trim piece without losing the lens?

If the lights are new, the fit is an aftermarket flaw with poor material. TRF claims theirs fit now after some problems, but I do not know. I actually cleaned up some old rubber sockets I had, and I got some old one on line and cleaned them. I finally got a complete new set to go together off the car and let that sit and stretch; it is still stretching. The socket was very tight with the rim and light in the housing. Back in the day the rubber was different.

Not easy to explain. Wrap a string with some overlap around the assy. so it is under the flap you want to pull out. Hold the assy. and one end of the string. Pull the other end, the end you pull should be in front of the other , and the flap will roll out. May take some practice. LeT

Just did that job last night. Blown bulb in the turn indicator.

I got the bottom edge of the glass in the rubber then worked the rubber over the glass with a very small Philips screwdriver and a little help from one if those small 90 degree pointy tools from Harbor Freight. The same for the Chrome ring.

Bingo! I could have managed more easily with a third hand, but your method worked nicely- many thanks- SchuyT
