Whilst sorting out some wires under my dash over the weekend, I noticed that I seem to be missing the "brake" warning light. In the 73 TR6 this little bulb would be in the dash with a white and black/purple wire. Now, there is a lone light assembly hanging in there that is white with a ground, meaning hot with ignition. It lights when the ignition is on. No black/purple wire under there. There is a black/purple wire connected to the PDWA valve but it disappears into the harness. Go figure? My options are cut this b/p wire and splice into it, run to the dash and grab a white wire and make my own circuit. You think British Wiring made a mistake? I installed this harness myself (alright, no comments here) 5 years ago and really forgot what I had. I ran a test circuit to the PDWA valve and didn't find it shorted so I suppose it is working.
There are all sorts of extra wires under my dash that have no use. This was the year Triumph installed safety circuits for the seats and seat belts in the form of warning lights. Yeah, like those are still there.
I remember having a harness made for my other TR6 about 20 years ago. I scavenged a harness from a wrecked TR6 made in the same month as mine. (the harness in my car had been butchered by the PO.) This was important. It was a 74 1/2 and the harness I had custom made in England was perfect. Now what you are buying is a harness made for an entire year where they try and include all revisions. Maddening.
