Installing BJ7 version exhaust system on my BJ8

I am currently installing a BJ7 and earlier version exhaust system on my BJ8. I like the look, sound, and less weight of this system. I bought the Bell SS system made in the UK, with new mounting hardware. The problem is that the inboard tail pipe is hitting the box frame rail. It appears that the frame rail on a BJ8 drops down under the rear axle because the ride hight was raised on BJ8's. The frame rail is straight on my BT7 and the tail pipe doesn't hit it.
Has anyone ever tried to do this, and is there any simple modifications that you know of to prevent this problem other than lowering the exhaust system an inch or two, which I really don't want to do?

I don't know about the Bell or Monza, but I had a Falcon stainless BJ7 version on my BJ8 and it fit fine. Yes, I did have to fab up a simple offset bracket for the rear tailpipe and rear muffler mounts, but other than that it was fine. If I remember correctly the tailpipes fit between the frame rail and the rear axle spring mount with plenty of space.

I have the earlier type of straight exhaust on my BJ8. It was on when I first got hold of the car.
It does make a nice noise but can be a little too much on a long run. I also wondered if the wrong exhaust would stifle the power output from the more powerful BJ8 engine.
I plan to take mine off and replace it with the correct one.
