I need measurements

Anyone have the storage bag for the stowaway top and the rails? I bought some greay (of course) lined vinyl, 2+ yards for $5-6 at Wal(heck)Mart and I want to make some bags. But since our top isn't here yet, I don't know what size I need for it and the rails. I have the measurements for the windblocker and brackets.

If anyone has the bags, could you measure the outside dimensions for me please? I can't sew that thick of material with my machine, but Hy-Tech Auto Trim up town (not to be confused with Hi-Tech aka John Mangles) is going to stitch them up for me!

Come on, surely someone has the bags from Moss or LBC Co...

I've an original vinyl/horsehair bag for the tonneau bows, but that's it... and that is "someplace safe." I already looked in the "usual places" but haven't found it. Sorry, kiddo.

Janel...I have them...they are out in the barn SOMEWHERE.

I will not be home until late tonight....I will *try* to get the measurements for you on Wednesday.

Thanks Rick. Carl French gave me the measurements for the top bag, so I really just need it for the rails. As I recall, the rail bag is curved. I'm thinking maybe 2 bags, so they don't bang together so much. Or getting some flannel and making a bag for each rail, then slipping them into the big bag. But I can just rattlecan them when they start looking rough. Sounds easier!

Bina has a top frame that removes from the car. It splits in half and stores in the bag (and hogs most of the boot). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

eh, but it's only worth it if it could keep the water out. I have plans to replace it when funds are available, because in it's current condition the top might as well be down even when it's up.

"HOLY CONVERTIBLE, BATMAN!!!"

I feel yer pain. The spiving hardtop will stay in place 'til we can get a new "skin" fer this B as well. It's a "take-apart" but not really that bad to put up. It's really a toss-up t'wixt this and a "folding" one: Which place would you rather have as available room? The boot or behind the seats... The "take-apart" ones stow fairly well and leave the boot with plenty of "everyday" room for groceries.

That's why I replaced the frame on my '69 MGC with one from a '76 MGB

I've oft' wondered how hard it would be to make a top that just throws back for an MGB.

I'll take the boot space please. I'm already obsessing over packing for a week for MG2006. Suppose Chuck only gets one set of clothes and underwear. Since he's the one that refuses to put a luggage rack on - HE can downsize his packing! With 2 folding lawn chairs, a small cooler, tops, tonneaus, rails, windblocker where the blazes do I put important things like shoes, makeup, clothes???

Janel...I saw on another BBS that someone was advising that you need two bags for the frame...one for each section. While this may assist in keeping the frames from getting chipped or alleviate some of the rattle,it is NOT necssary, as both halves easily fit inside one bag, of factory dimensions.

Also saw that George sent you dimensions, as well as Carl. Let me know if I still need to dig in the barn.
