Problem... heater valve is finally done, leaking like sieve. As far as I can tell, I can't take it apart to fix it.
I got a ball valve from Home depot, along with several 1/2" copper plumbing fittings. I sweated them all together to make a replacement.
It all seems to work. I'm curious if the solder joints will hold given the heat of the fluid that will be running through the joints.
The melting point of the solder is 400+ deg, I saw a rating on the copper at something like 200 psi. If the temp ever gets anywhere near 400 degrees, the car better be on fire. The radiator cap should go at a fraction of 200psi.
But, I just worry about these things......
wadda ya think?
