A little hard to find, but if you can find 30 weight, it adds a fair amount of stiffness. I've never tried to measure it, but assuming the stock oil is 20 weight, you should see something like 20-30% more damping (assuming the shocks aren't worn out or broken).
If of course the increased forces don't break the shock. I've heard of racers sometimes using STP to thicken up the oil for more damping, and blowing the sides out of the shock.
