Fuel Cells and Fumes

Since I have decided to finish my car, I want to install a 15 gallon fuel cell in it instead of the factory tank. The only thing I'm concerned with is fumes. I plan on using the least permeable type of fuel line I can buy, but I was wondering if the new fuel cells are as aromatic as the old ones were. Years ago, I remember there were like 2 brands of fuel cells, now there are at least 10. I've looked at ATL, Fuel Safe, Jaz and few others, but as I recall the top two are the ATL and the Fuel Safe.

Any suggestions on cells, fuel pumps, lines, etc?

Go with anything that has a SFI rating on it. Some of the other brands do not.

If you're building a race car, go with two pickups and two pumps. I think you should avoid t's and other 90 degree elbows if you can, and use y connectors and 45 degree angles instead. Hope this helps.

Tab, a fuel cell has to be vented like any other fuel tank, and how you tackle that will determine if you smell fumes or not. I like the Fuel Safe and ATL brand, and the FIA/SCCA GT prod class legal cells, thay are much higher quailty, but also more expensive, but alot of road race bodies do not allow non FIA. We bought a ATL and few years ago for a MGB rally car project and got a 12 gallon with the fuel sender and level gauge, cost about a grand, and that was for the Sport cell, or you could get a cheap D-ring cell like a RCI or many more out there for a couple hundreds bucks.
