lmao @ bumperless! guess im going to have to put mine back on just to be different!

Interior and rear fender flares look nasty. looks like they did a good job with the engine swap though.

I just want the fuzzy steering wheel cover!
If the wood treatment on the passengerside went all the way across the dash it might look better. I kinda like that look they were going for. The flares got to go. If it is my $9K.

Now that one would be a good one to work on. If I were going to add power to one, I would use the Rover v8, reasone being is that the weight and all is very close to the a series. My mom had a 1962 buick special with this V8 in it (later the license to make it was sold to the Brits). The block was aluminum and so the whole engine was very light and this made the whole car light and it would scream. Later my folks junked the car but my brother took the engine and tran and made a 23 Model T bucket Ford from a JC Whitney kit and rebuilt this engine and polished the aluminum up and when he got it all together he had a car that weighed less than 1000 pounds and have a v8 engine. I don't know how much HP that motor had but I was not old enough to drive but my brother terrified me with this car on several occasions riding in it. It was super quick on take off and super quick on stopping. Could not take it above 100 as the car had external fiberglass fenders and the fear was that they would get torn off. I would think there wuld be loads of rover V8s in england. A person could make a penny shipping a bunch of them over I am sure.

Re: Don't want to own it, but I'd like to drive it

Got a friend here in Dayton, OH who has been dropping 3.4 and even 4.3 GM V-6 Engines and T-5? Trannys out of Camaro/Firebird into MGB's and MGB-GT's. He's even working on one using a Supercharged 4.3. I had a chance to ride in his 3.4 with a 5 speed and it's really quick. The combo with Engine and Tranny is 75lbs. lighted that the 1800 CC Lump it replaces and fits with plenty of space in the engine compartment without needing to cut anything. This is a perfect fit for these cars and handling isn't disturbed in fact weight balance is even better.

Now taling about performance, I had a chance to drive in a Stalker V6 - Lotus 7 clone with 3.4 Chevy. A really, really, fun ride. Even better I got a ride in the "Oh My God!!!" Super Stalker with the 4.3 Supercharged Engine making more than 300 horses on 1400 lb chassis. Talk about puttingthe pedal to the medal. Car absolutely jumped from 35 to probably over 100 mph in effortless seconds. A Super Stalker has won the Run and Gun Trophy for Kit Cars two years running. Now to imagine similiar HP in a Spridget, wow.
