Difference between MK IX and XK 150 Front Brakes?

Parts listings reference MK IX and XK 150 front brakes as different.

Everything else about the front suspension pieces seem to be the same.

What is different?

Rotor Diameter? Piston size? Would XK 150 calipers fit a MK IX?

Since the MKIX is a heavier car the XK 150 brakes would never stop it.What is you question in the first place? If you need MK IX brakes all you have to do is ask as I kept all of them from parts cars from 30 years ago.The offset of the rotor and the calipers are different.

MK VII and MKVIII also are listed as different from MK IX.Early MK VII apparently had 2 1/8 piston on first 1500 cars. What size piston is used on the MK VIII and MK IX?

I'm still trying to figure out just what is on this car.

MKVII and MKVIII are drum brake cars with a Clayton Dewandre servo. MKIX's use Dunlop calipers with a Lockheed servo. IIRC, fronts are 2 1/2" and rears are 1 7/8". Front disc pads on the IX are larger than 150 and rears are the same.

Thanks! That clears up a lot! What is the differnce in rotor Diameters?

This is all from memory until I can put my hands on my NOS MKIX rotors , but as I recall the diameter is the same but the thickness is about .125 larger.
