Daimler V8/250 or Jaguar MkI/MkII wanted.

I'm asking for help from all our BCF members, as we all have more knowledge of sources than just me.

Does anyone know a Daimler V8/250 or Jaguar MkI/II for sale?

I'm looking locally, on various club sites, and on traditional sites such as BCF Classifieds, Craigslist (SearchTempest), AutoTrader, etc.

If you know of a car, please PM me.

Thank you!
Tom

What's your budget Tom? particularly as the Jk1/II Jags are getting a little spendy.

Also, have you thought about a Jag XJS? I really think the shape is redeeming itself and prices are still very good, or, even an XK8 - I know it really isn't a classic, but you can buy a coupe for under 10k, it has AC, good gas mileage and comfortable ride if you want road trips.

I'll second the XJS. A good friend of mine in my local club has a really nice TR4, but when we do a longer tour he drives his XJS. It's one from the Ford era of Jag ownership, and he uses it as a daily driver (and has for quite a few years). It's been really reliable for him, and is a very nice shape.

PS, PB. Mechanically sound. Smooth Ride. Body in
good condition, Interior in Original
condition. Same owner 15 years. well maintained.

If you are interested in going this route I can PM you the contact info but don't want to post it for security reasons.

While I'm not a huge fan of engine swaps, that is probably a fun car. Hope the new owner enjoys it.

It's slow going, Paul. Shop is working on the bonnet now, still have to do the rear quarter panel repairs and she'll be ready for paint. Realistically I'm thinking it'll be spring before she's home.

After that I still have to restore ALL the other bits... so best guess now is spring 2016 for the first drive. About what I had planned. Can only work as quickly as the budget allows anyways.

"budget" ??? what is this strange word "budget"?

Isn't that what you try to do, when something is stuck?

I'm a big fan of budgets, and budgeting in general. Nice to know how much (or how little) you have to spend on a particular project. Right now I'm in fill-the-coffers mode, taking all the extra gigs I can to build up the cash reserves. Cash will keep flowing in for a while, then next summer it will start flowing out at a pretty alarming rate!

You finding anything close to what you're looking for yet?

Well, the Jaguar Mk2 had a few issues "underneath". Tried reinforcing with chewing gum and baling wire - but the wire dissolved soon as it hit (what's left of) the frame.

But I do have a backup plan <evil grin>
