Greetings,
I am having my cylinder head overhauled on my 72 TR6. According to the Haynes Manual, the last two studs for the head are slightly longer than the others. (12.5 cm vs. 12 cm). Does anyone know the reason for this added length on the last two studs? My newly purchased ARP studs are all the same length (12 cm.). Am I looking for trouble by installing these performance studs? Also, the original studs call for torque values of 65.5 ft./lbs. and the ARP stud kit wants the torque to be 80 ft./lbs. Do I risk cracking the head with these upgraded studs???? Thanks for any advice or experience you can offer.
