Hello, new user here!
I need some information and help from someone with experience installing a new convertible top on a BJ8 (or 7) with respect to the curved metal bar that fits into the drip rail.
Tbere are 25 - 30 clips that are supposed to attach the fabric to this curved metal bar with a small channel with rubber weathstrip... that eventually fits together with fabric top into the drip rail.
I do not know how the fabric fits accurately. Does the fabric fold completely over the metal bar's small curved channel, then is clipped, and then rubber weather strip cemented over the fabric seated into this inner curved lip?
The removed convertible top seemed to be folded over 1/2 inch on itself, and then is butted against (without going into) the metal bar's curved channel and clipped in place. This does not seem right?
I leave it to the experts? Thank you for your help.
