XKE Project Update
So the car came back from the professionals yesterday; Terry Lippincott, who I can't say enough good things about. It is no longer a Flintstones car as it has new floors and outer sills as well as repaired inner sills. Nice thing was that aside from a couple of hidden rusty sill stiffeners, there were no issues that I didn't already know about and so I only went a little over budget.
While it was in the shop, Terry let me take advantage of the 4-post lift to do other work myself. The main job I did was replacing all the front suspension rubbers with Polybushes, which also let us check the torsion bar settings (with Terry's help). It was really nice to have a Jag expert advising me in a well equipped shop. Now I am back to working in a cold garage, but still loving every minute of it.
My priority was to ensure that the car is structurally sound, before moving on to lesser jobs. With that out of the way, I am just wrapping up the cooling system and will then change out the front brake disks/pads and finally dive into the electrics before putting the interior back together.
Targeting early April for back on the road.
