but on a positive note it DOES appear to have the chrome around the small mouth....
Those non-standard bits of Radio-Shack electronics around the non-standard Control Box sure makes one wonder what else 'lies beneath'....
Andrew...that link won't allow me to look...Andrew Mace said:Jerry, maybe someone will find links to pictures of cars. Meanwhile, the VTR site has several paint charts, including this Martin-Senour chart covering roughly 1957-65.
I don't think I've ever seen a Pearl Grey TR3, apparently a color only available from Sept. 1957 to Sept. 1958. Silverstone Grey I have seen (dates from approx. Sept. 1958), and it is a very nice color.
I suspect that "Silvertone" is simply a typo. Hard to say whether "Pearl" and "Silver" greys are the same or not. Triumph was known to change names for the same color: Primrose on the TR3 was, as far as I've been able to determine, the same as "Pale Yellow" on the early Herald!TexasKnucklehead said:...I see there is a "Silvertone Gray", "Silver Gray", "Pearl Gray" and "Silverstone Gray"....
Good question! I've always thought that the right grey on the right car is stunning, and Silverstone on a TR3A is "right" for me. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gifTexasKnucklehead said:I have a 58 TR3 that will not be exactly original, but I'm curious why there are so few gray cars.
