Worrying News About BCF Member Judow...

Judy, Doug, and Family,
You are all in our thoughts and prayers for a quick and complete recovery!
Jim & Linda

To give an update on Judy. Only thing physically wrong is her kidneys are not working well. They are giving her dialysis tonight to help. Hope this is a temporary thing and she responds well. Other than this problem she is stable physically. Mentally she is up and down but I am giving her as much encouragement as possible. The good news is physical therapy checked her today and not only made her sit up in bed but try and stand. You could tell she was scared but tried and did a good job. Therapist said she will be a good candidate for therapy as long as she keeps positive. I know there will be highs and low along this line. She is not out of the woods and wants to quit but that is not an option for me. Now all depends on how the dialysis works and her will. Thanks to everyone

Doug I can appreciate how committed you are to Judy but I have to tell you something from experience. My wife was sick for quite a while and I was her primary care giver. It got to the point that I was getting sick. I realized that if I was sick I was no longer any help to her. I called her sister , my daughter and my son and we set up a schedule that allowed me to get sleep at night. We did that for the rest of her life.

Please reach out to people who are there to help you. I compare it to what they tell you on a plane “ when the oxygen mask drops if you are with someone that needs help put your mask on first” . If you get sick you won’t be able to help Judy.

Rhode island’s motto is Hope. Remind her where she is from.

All the the best, Ernie

Judy we serve a Mighty God and may he come to you in your hour of need, prayers to you and your family. Get well soon and never look back❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾

I've been away from the forum and my computer for a while so I just saw this. My best wishes on a complete recovery. The mind is a powerful thing. Positive thoughts and a strong will can prevail. Get well soon Judy. And Doug you stay strong as well.

News on Judy. She had her first dialysis last night. Took out over a liter of fluid. Then she started to produce urine. In a short time over 100ml. Looks like the last physical problem is under control. Maybe a few more treatments and we can consentrate on rehab. Judy is fully alert and her response is getting quicker. Maybe the drive down the road to recovery has started. Thanks for all the well wishes. I read them to Judy this morning and her eyes opened wide. Then went into a nice sleep.

Doug - that is good news indeed. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. Hope my card has arrived by now.

Sounds like my students during my lectures.

Judy is resting comfortable. Dialysis tonight to boost her kidneys. Still n emotional roller coaster. Read her all the post in the morning but as she gets tired during the day get a little depressed. I understand and help the best I can. Cards are cheering her up. Thank you all for sending.

Hang in there Judy. Hope you have a quick recovery !

Good news on the Judy front. Doctor said no neurological center. She will go direct to advance long term rehab. She is stable enough to start real rehab. Also physical therapist recommended advanced therapy. That means 3 hours a day workout. Also not starting in a week or so but a matter of days. Tomorrow we check out the facility’s and decide. Then off she goes. I am sure there will be good and bad days but it’s the end of the journey that will make it all worth it. She does look at all the cards and she knows the love and prayers are there and they help. For Judy I say thanks. An extra note. She had all her IV lines removed and the brace from her good hand. We showed her the iPad and explained that it could be used as a filler until she can speak again. Hope she tries soon and can type this herself.

Great to hear!

That is certainly encouraging news! Let's keep praying for continued improvement!

Well Judy had a down day. Not physically but emotionally. Don’t know why as she was upbeat this morning but late morning did a complete turn around. Knew it was bad when she pulled the sheet over her head when PT cam to visit her. There is tomorrow
